Maritime transporters reject e-Call up system @Eastern Ports - ITREALMS
Maritime transporters under the auspices of Maritime workers union (MWUN) Eastern Zone has rejected the E-call Up truck system at Onne and other ports in the Eastern Zone, vowing action if the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA and other Maritime authorities refused to adhere to their call for its review.
The Association rising from an emergency meeting Wednesday in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital where over 700 of their members were in attendance insisted that the E- call Up system failed at Lagos ports of Apapa and Tin Can, wondering why such should be experimented in the Eastern ports, which are strongly yearning for Port infrastructural development such as good Port access road and dredging of water channels to accommodate more vessels and increase cargo throughput and vessel turnaround time.

Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the esteemed spokesman for the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has reached a significant academic milestone by successfully completing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, reports ITREALMS.
Dr. Arowona's pursuit of knowledge is a testament to his unwavering dedication to education. His foundational learning began with Quranic studies under Sheikh Nasir Abdulkareem at the Sulyman Abdulkareem Memorial Arabic and Islamic Institute in Ilorin. He furthered his early education at Model Nursery & Primary School, Lower Niger River Basin Nursery & Primary School, Bishop Smith Memorial College, Government High School, and St. Anthony Secondary School, all within Ilorin. He then completed an Advanced Level Course (Interim Joint Matriculation Board - IJMB) coordinated by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Building upon this strong academic base, Dr. Arowona gained direct entry into the Department of Political Science at the University of Ilorin as a 200-Level student. His thirst for knowledge led him to acquire a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, a Master of Science in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Ibadan, and a Master Class Certificate in Business Management and Leadership from the London Graduate School.
A seasoned public relations strategist, Dr. Arowona has contributed his expertise to numerous media organizations, including National Pilot Newspapers, Fresh Facts Newspapers, National Daily Newspapers, 234Next.com Newspapers, and Nigerian Pilot Newspaper, as well as CTDI Warsaw.
His professional affiliations reflect his diverse expertise and engagement within various sectors. Adding to his distinguished profile, Dr. Arowona holds the esteemed traditional titles of Shettima of Okuta Emirate, conferred upon him by His Royal Highness Alhaji Hon. (Dr) Abubakar Idris Sero Kperogi Affon Serobetete III, the Emir of Okuta and Chairman of the Baruten Traditional Rulers Council, and Chikansoro Tangale, bestowed by His Royal Highness Alhaji Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba IV, the Mai-Tangale in Biliri Local Government Area of Gombe State. His achievements are shared and celebrated with his wife, Dr. Misitura Lawal-Arowona, a globally recognized researcher and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, Kebbi State. Dr. Lawal-Arowona recently made a significant contribution to the scientific community with her discovery of anti-tuberculosis metal drug complexes during her research at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India.
